Trifles Alternate Ending

I think it would have been interesting if Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Peters would of shown the bird to the County Attorney. This would of shown him that Mrs. Wright presumably committed the crime, and they would of charged her with more. But what I'm more interested in is what Mrs. Wright would say to defend herself. Like what would she say besides that he killed her bird? It would be intriguing to get more into their marriage and to see if there were any other reasons to why she would do it. We know that Mr. Wright was a cold and hard person, so maybe that played into things. I would just want to dive deeper into those two characters than what was told in the play itself.

  1. That's a really interesting point! I think it is so fascinating that the play spends the whole time trying to figure out what happened to Mrs. and Mr. Wright, and yet we do not hear from Mrs. Wright at all. You should write a "sequel" on this, including clues from the script we already have, and build off of that!

  2. Yea I think that would be really fascinating to watch. It does seem that all roads point to Mrs. Wright being guilty, but considering this play seems to be set in a more primitive world and perhaps an earlier time period I think it would be interesting to see if Mrs. Wright, a woman would be convicted. And if so, what type of punishment would she be sentenced to?
